LUXURY HAND-POURED CANDLESApplies to: Premium Scented Candles and Wax Formations
A luxury candle is an experience of light and aroma. Proper burning habits not only guarantee a clean, soot-free aesthetic but also extend the lifespan of your candle by up to 50%.
The Critical "First Burn"
Memory Is Everything: When lighting your candle for the very first time, allow it to burn continuously until the melted wax pool reaches completely to the outer edges of the vessel. Wax has a "memory", if extinguished too early, the candle will "tunnel" straight down the centre on future burns, wasting precious wax.
Wick Maintenance
- Trim to Trim: Before every single lighting, trim the cotton or wooden wick to exactly 1/4 inch. This eliminates "mushrooming" (the carbon buildup at the tip), prevents heavy black soot from staining your vessel, and keeps the flame at a safe, controlled height.
- Centre It: If the wick drifts over time, gently nudge it back to the centre while the wax is still warm and molten.
Safe & Beautiful Burning
- The 4-Hour Limit: Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Prolonged burning causes the entire vessel to overheat and degrades the luxury fragrance oils faster.
- Mind the Surface: Always place your candle on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface, safely away from open drafts, curtains, ceiling fans, pets, and children.
- The Golden Exit: Never extinguish your candle with water. Use a candle snuffer or gently blow it out to avoid splashing hot wax.
Artisanal Note: If your candle is housed in a custom Forty Eight resin or gold-flake holder, once the wax has burned down to the final 1/2 inch, discontinue use. Carefully wash out the remaining wax residue with warm, soapy water to repurpose the gorgeous vessel as a luxury vanity organiser, planter, or jewellery dish.
